In the stone industry, we work every day with materials that are as enduring as they are demanding. Among the serious risks our industry faces, exposure to silica dust is one that cannot — and must not — be taken lightly.
At Neo, the safety of our team has always been our highest priority. That’s why we invested in state-of-the-art dust suppression systems and implemented wet cutting practices years ago. These measures significantly reduce airborne silica and are part of a comprehensive strategy to protect our people, now and into the future.
To further support our safety efforts, we have also undertaken independent air testing within our factory to monitor the levels of respirable crystalline silica (RCS) in our working environment. These tests are a critical part of verifying the effectiveness of our control measures and ensuring we remain well within safe exposure limits.
The findings of our most recent air monitoring are included below:

We’re also working closely with our clients and suppliers to promote materials with lower silica content. It’s encouraging to see the industry responding quickly, with many now offering mineral-based stone products designed to reduce risk without compromising quality. We’re proud to support and encourage this shift — it’s a critical part of creating a safer future for everyone in the trade.
We acknowledge the very real risks of silica exposure and take our responsibility seriously. Through continuous training, investment in advanced equipment, collaboration across the supply chain, and a culture that puts health and safety first, we ensure our factory remains not just compliant — but a leader in setting safer standards for our industry.
Our team is the heart of our business. Keeping them safe isn’t just a box to tick — it’s the foundation of everything we do. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.
